The Red Mountain Soccer complex, which was originally opened in January of 1995, is an indoor multi-team soccer facility located in 905 N. Sunrise Blvd. in Southeast Mesa. The facility offers a variety of facilities and benefits for its players, including soccer training, team members, coaches, and staff, soccer equipment and clothing, and facilities for refereeing.
The Red Mountain soccer field consists of six professionally groomed soccer pitches that cover about 22 acres, offering players the opportunity to compete against each other and practice and develop their skills against other professionals. The area is located directly adjacent to the facility's high school. The youth complex is designed as a learning environment for youth, with a great emphasis on social and physical development.
In addition to high quality soccer training, the Red Mountain Youth Complex offers youth and adult soccer programs that offer a wide variety of activities. These programs are developed by a professional soccer coach who works closely with the youth players to teach them the game of soccer and instill a positive attitude toward the sport. All of the soccer teams are comprised of athletes from varying backgrounds and different ages. The youth soccer complex also includes a variety of recreational activities for the young people, including a swimming pool, volleyball court, and basketball court. Additionally, there is a concession stand that serves pizza, sandwiches, chips, soda, beer, and food.
Located on the property of the youth complex, the Red Mountain Youth Soccer Association operates a variety of clinics and camps for children, their parents, and coaches. These clinics are designed to build teamwork, provide kids with skills and knowledge, and provide coaches with the tools they need to help youth develop their skills and knowledge.
The complex is owned by the United Soccer Leagues, or USL, and is managed by youth coaches. Coaches are a mixture of former professionals, college and high school coaches, and amateur soccer players who have become coaches because of a love of the sport. The coaches work hand in hand with the youth program to provide the necessary guidance for the kids to be successful and to their ultimate potential. They are responsible for selecting the best athletes for the youth program and training and developing those athletes to become future pros. who will ultimately represent their country at the professional level?
The youth complex has been used by the United States Women's National Team since it was formed, and is home to many talented young female soccer players. Since it was established, the program has produced several players who have been known as some of the best soccer players in the world, such as Brandi Chastain, Hope Solo, Heather Mitts, Lauren Holiday, Abby Wambach, Kelley Smith, Abby Wambach, Lauren Holiday, Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Lisa De Vanna, Christen Press, Julie Foudy, and Crystal Dunn. Other prominent soccer players who have played in the complex include Sydney Leroux, Abby Wambach, Crystal Dunn, Desiree Scott, Ashlyn Harris, and Sydney Leroux.
For the past two years the Red Mountain soccer field has been recognized by various community groups and agencies as a model and showcase of youth soccer development and has been host to a variety of community celebrations, such as the Mesa Tournament, the Vista Grande Youth and Family Cup Festival, and many more. The complex has also been chosen as a recipient of the prestigious Pohutukawa Community Award for the highest honor given to an entity or organization for their dedication to community development. Soccer enthusiasts from the Phoenix metropolitan area, such as the Mesa Tournament, the Vista Grande YMCA, and Pohutukawa Chamber of Commerce, visit the Red Mountain facility in person to watch matches, practice, and interact with youth coaches, players, and other community leaders.
